Professionals Under Promise

I don't know about you but whenever I am at a restaurant or at a place of business and the owner or worker tells me ___________ is going to be ready in ____ time I am expecting that. To be honest I hoping they are giving me a worst-case scenario. And you know that feeling when they tell you one thing but it is another. They say 30 mins and it is really 60 minutes. Gosh that is so annoying.

If you are in business or thinking about getting into business please remember to under-promise and over-deliver.

The other day I went to a Jamaican restaurant and ordered something that was made to order. It was Curry Shrimp and was told it would be 30-40 mins. So we left came back and it took another 20 mins. So it was quite annoying. The food was good but it would have been better if she told me it would have been close to one hour to make.

Also on that same day, I ordered a few items on Amazon and because of the shut down they are giving time frames versus the guaranteed 1-day shipping. But they still delivered my things in one day. That is such a great feeling. When you expect something from a company and it is in even better timing than they said.

So again, under-promise and under deliver. Whether you are in business or not but definitely if you are in business. Your customers will respect you and appreciate that you are a person of your word and your actions are even better than your words.

Till the Next,
